What a great experience we had in Cape Cod. Many of us were saddened to have to leave. Anytime you have that many people worshiping our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ you can expect awesome things to happen. We saw teens come to know Christ, confess their sins, and praise Christ Jesus. We worshiped 3 times a day and you just knew that God was there, without a doubt. We made knew friends and saw those we’ve met before. We ate well, slept little (which showed by Sunday night), acted silly, learned much, and really became closer to each other. John and the band led worship everyday and The Confidence performed Saturday night and afterwards there was a bonfire teens confessed to some heavy burdens of sin and also praised God for the things he has done in their life. Some adults were moved to share in praise also. I confess many tears, many times this trip just being touched and moved by worship, the teens, and by God’s grace and mercy.
We had some Bible study electives on Saturday we could choose from, I went to one titled “10 things I wished someone had told me when I was a teenager or that they told me and I wished I remembered”. The ten things were in short: to know Christ; master forgiveness; the world and everybody in it is broken; there is indeed more to life; What are you going to base you decisions on?; Reap what you sow (2 things last forever the Word and Christians); U R responsible (we don’t own it, but we are responsible for it); write your obituary now; if you are going to err between Love and Truth, err towards love; and if you are going to err between trusting self and trusting God, err in trusting God.
Over this entire weekend I was so moved by the teens, the worship services, the individual group discussions and prayers. Our teens are special. Our interns are doing a wonderful job with the teens and they deserve our support and encouragement. The theme of the weekend was “Jesus paid it all”, think about it how many of us would sacrifice our own child to save others, imagine the kind of love that takes! Our God is truly beyond any descriptive words known to man. When Jesus was ministering to the people they gathered in fellowship everyday, how great to be able to gather everyday in his name to worship our God. While I am glad to be home, I miss seeing everyone on a daily basis and look forward to times we are together. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about going, to go the next time. I know many of us want to go back next year. All the glory and praise go to God. I am grateful that Jesus paid it all, especially when I know I don’t deserve it.
God bless,
