Dear Church family, Thank you for your service last year in the areas of hospitality, fellowship and upkeep. These ministries are helpful in our being united on many fronts and all represent The River’s Edge to each other and to the community. Each promotes our purposes of magnifying the Lord, growing in spiritual maturity, committing to serving to one another, reaching out to those who are seeking something new for their lives (Jesus), and finding our calling to serve the body. Thank you for giving of yourselves this year and may the Lord bless your service. If you are new to these ministries and have questions, call Emily @ the office (453- 3435). 2008-09 Hospitality Ministry Schedule
This is the 2008-2009 schedule for Sunday Worship Hospitality Ministry. Hospitality is to make people feel welcome and set them at ease. More important than the food is the attitude of service. Greet them warmly with a bulletin and refreshments. (Prov. 11:25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.) First impressions are lasting. Remember to mark your calendar with this date and if it doesn’t work for you, call and switch with someone for a date that does. Don’t neglect this because someone will be left hanging if you do. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Instructions for Hospitality Ministry
Provide breads, donuts, cookies, coffee cake (homemade or store-bought) etc. and also provide 1 gal milk and 1 gal juice. Arrive at 9:00. Get the hospitality cart from behind the stage curtain right( or left as you face the stage-it may already be set up by the morning set up crew). Set up the coffee pot first (leave it on the cart –park it behind the popcorn machine). Coffee is in premeasured pkgs. on the cart or behind the stage in a box. Locate the bulletins (worship team may know where they are or they are on the stairs or soundboard). Use the tray and wax paper to set up provided food if needed. Set up any other items next while coffee pot heats( cups are usually in a case behind the stage). If we are out of something, you may go to the IGA and purchase it.(cups, napkins, creamer, sugar, etc) Have family members or friends pass out bulletins while you serve refreshments. Serve the 9:30 crowd and the 11:00 crowd. When the last of the crowd comes through (around 11:10), you can leave it up to the latecomers to serve them selves. Brew 1 last pot of coffee & fill the carafe then you can leave at this point. Felicia will clean up for you after the crowd has left. If there are any needed items or other info to pass along, place in offering plate or let Felicia know.
