Dear Saints,

This morning we return to our study of Romans 14.  As we approach our text we remember that Paul is dealing with matters that are not commanded or prohibited in scripture; gray areas if you will.  These are not salvation issues and Paul wants the churches to not argue over these opinions.  The gray areas are ways we can walk by faith too!

The Bible is silent on many details of our lives.  And Paul says “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”  (Phil 2:12-13). So we seek to please the Lord in everything we do.  We avoid the extreme of legalism and the other extreme of license to do as we please that we might live a life of faith that trusts Christ salvation yet bears the fruit of that salvation!
