Brothers and sisters,

Today Paul issues thirteen more commands, totaling thirty in this twelfth chapter.

He summarizes our behaviors in the last verse: 21 Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. Followers of Christ are so preoccupied with good, there is no time to be their normal wicked selves.

Last week, we said our work for the Lord is never done.  If we are idle, we sin.  Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. The Pr. 31 woman , “looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. “ (Pr. 31:27)

Christians don’t try to find common ground with the world, they have found holy ground in Christ, they overcome this evil world by doing good.  May God bless you and equip you to be his minister to the world by his Word and through the power of his spirit today!
